Local Directions

If you are coming on foot Shanklin is easy to get to and to get around the Island from. If you are coming by train it is easier and cheaper to get a through ticket including the boat. Ask us for detailed maps we can email you.

By Foot - Travelling from Portsmouth -
Accessible from all parts of the country by mainland trains and with direct links to London. Also the most direct route.
From Portsmouth Harbour train station follow the Wightlink sign at the end of the platforms. Take the Wightlink Catmaran to RydePier Head. 22mins.
Take the Island Line Train from Pier Head to Shanklin. 25 mins.

By Foot - Travelling from Southsea. From Portsmouth & Southsea train station cross the road and take the Hoverbus (stop C) to the Southsea Hoverport. 15 mins
Take the Hovercraft to Ryde Esplanande. 10mins. From the Esplanande turn right to Ryde Esplanade Station. Take the Island line train to Shanklin 23 mins.

FROM SHANKLIN STATION
From the station entrance walk ahead out of the car park into Regent Street. Continue along the road to Boots and turn right into High Street. Continue towards the Village and turn right at the Rock Shop into Grange Road. We are on the left hand side.

Travelling from Southampton
From Southampton Central Station or coach station take the free Quayconnect bus to Town Quay terminal 2. 10 mins
Take the Red Jet Hi speed to West Cowes 25mins. Take the Southern Vectis route 1 bus (outside the terminal building) to Newport bus station. 25mins. Take the Southern Vectis route 2 bus to Shanklin. 25mins. (See after 'Travelling from Lymington' for how to get to us from bus stop.

Travelling from Lymington (New Forest)
Take the Wightlink car ferry from Lymington Pier (you can reach this by train) to Yarmouth. 40mins.
Take teh Southern Vectis route 7 bus from Yarmouth Harbour (next to the big roundabout) to Newport bus station 35mins.
Take the Southern Vectis route 2 bus from the bus station to Shanklin.

From the number 2 bus stop coming from Newport get off at the library (ask the driver). Walk in the same direction as the bus to the traffic lights and turn right towards the old village. Turn right at the 'Rock Shop' into Grange Road and we are on the left hand side.

From Fishbourne and Ryde
Coming off of the Fishbourne ferry take a left at the traffic lights and follow the A3054 towards Ryde, which turns into the A3055 at Ryde. Follow directions to Sandown, then once at Sandown follow the signs for Shanklin. It's a very direct route which takes you through the Old Village, then just turn right at the Rock shop.

From Yarmouth and the West
From the Lymington ferry into Yarmouth turn left following the coast onto the A3054 towards Newport. Then take a right on the A3020 at Newport, following signs for Sandown. Turn right at the traffic lights into the Old Village and right into Grange Road at the Rock Shop.

From East Cowes
From the East Cowes ferry follow the road signs for Fishbourne and Ryde. At Ryde Follow directions to Sandown, then once at Sandown follow the signs for Shanklin. It's a very direct route which takes you through the Old Village, then just turn right at the Rock shop.
